Anna Hunter is a first-generation sheep farmer, wool mill owner, and advocate in the Canadian wool industry. Based in Eastern Manitoba on Treaty 1 Territory, she is the founder of Long Way Homestead—a farm and mill dedicated to regenerative agriculture, climate-beneficial fibre, and community-driven textile production. Anna works to connect rural fibre producers with urban makers, fibre artists, and conscious consumers, helping to rebuild a regional and resilient wool economy.
She is the best-selling author of The True Cost of Wool (2025) and Sheep, Shepherd & Land (2023), and is widely recognized for her advocacy in the Canadian wool industry.
